ABSTRACT:

As telecommunications networks transition toward open, cloud-native architectures, the RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) is emerging as a critical platform for enabling automation, programmability, and AI-driven optimization. The RIC serves as a central intelligence layer in modern Open RAN deployments, enabling operators to manage increasingly complex radio environments with greater flexibility and efficiency.

This session explores how the RIC—through both near-real-time and non-real-time control frameworks—enables operators to deploy applications that optimize spectrum efficiency, automate network operations, and dynamically adapt to changing traffic conditions. By leveraging advanced analytics, AI-driven orchestration, and programmable interfaces, operators can accelerate the adoption of intelligent and open radio access architectures.
